Currency fluctuations

All prices not shown in Australian dollars are converted from the Australian dollar price. We update our exchange rates on a regular basis, so you may see prices fluctuate sightly from week to week.

Please also be aware that all payments will be processed in Australian dollars, and that due to the currency conversion, the amount billed to your credit card may differ slightly (usually lower) from the total price shown at checkout.

Gift Wrapping

Gift wrapping image

For just AU $5 we will wrap your gift carefully with love and attention, and hand write your card to make sure it has the personal touch (we would try to imitate your handwriting but that might be a little difficult). We use thick, quality, red wrapping paper and finish it with a simple tie and matching gift card. Your gift will be perfect and ready to give.

How to add gift wrapping

  • From the Shopping Cart page, select "Add gift wrapping", and add it to your cart. If you have multiple gifts to wrap, you can update the quantity in the shopping cart page to match the number of gifts to be wrapped.
  • We can leave the card blank for you to complete yourself, or when you check out you you can tell us what to write and your gift will be ready to send directly to the recipient.
  • If you buy more than one item and would like them gift wrapped together, you can also tell us this at checkout and we will be happy to do so.

If you are unsure of what to give, Gift Certificates are the perfect alternative.

Gift Certificates

Purchasing a gift certificate

When purchasing a gift certificate, you will be able to select the amount and the method of delivery (email or post). If email delivery is selected the email will be sent immediately to the recipient (you will need to provide their email address). If you would like the gift certificate to be posted to the recipient, enter their address as the shipping address in checkout. If you would like to personally give the certificate, simply enter your own address. Buy a gift certificate here.

How to redeem a gift certificate

Gift Certificates can be redeemed by entering your certificate code on the Shopping Cart page. The certificate amount will automatically be deducted from your order. If your order total is less than the certificate total, you will be able to use the remainder of the gift certificate amount by using the same code again at a different time (we will remember the balance of your certificate for your next purchase).

Ring Sizing

To keep us on our toes, there are various ring sizing systems used across the world. The most common are the UK/Australia system, and the US system. The UK and Australia use an alphabetical system ranging from A-Z. The USA uses a numbered system ranging from 1-13. The EU seem to have the only sensible system which uses the inner circumference of the ring as the size (i.e. circumference of 55mm, is a size 55).

Because we source jewellery from all over the world, you will find that different rings may use different ring size systems. For example, designers in the US will use the US system, and designers in Australia will use the UK/Australia system. So we have created tools for you to be able to determine your ring size in both systems, and compare sizes with the conversion table.

Caring for your jewellery

To keep your jewellery looking it's best:
  • Take care not to expose it to perfume, hairspray or harsh chemicals
  • Avoid placing excess strain on chains, neckpieces and bracelets

Cleaning sterling silver jewellery

Due to the copper in sterling silver you will notice the metal darkens and oxides overtime. To maintain the shine and finish of your jewellery:
  • Clean larger items such as rings and bangles with a soft polish cloth. These cloths can be purchased from department stores and are impregnated with cleaning compound to maintain the shine of your piece.
  • Clean chains and fine wires with 'silver foam', also typically available from your department store. Gently swab the silver components with a damp sponge covered in 'silver foam', then rinse clean. Foam can be used on jewelry including components such as freshwater pearls, crystals and semi precious stones, but always check the directions on the product you buy. Take care not to leave foam on products for extended periods of time.

Maintaining your brushed satin matte finish

If your silver jewellery has a brushed satin matte look, you can maintain it easily yourself. Follow the instructions below. This method will also remove any discolouring or shallow scratches.
  1. Grab a scouring pad (from under your sink or at your local store) and run it under the tap to make it moist
  2. Rub your jewelry in a single direction with the scourer, take care not to rub parts of the jewellery without the brushed finish
  3. Rinse clean and let dry naturally

Maintaining your Smug anodised titanium

The patterned metal of your Smug jewellery is anodised titanium. To clean it, rub gently with a soft cloth. Do not use silver or metal polish, as it will damage the colour and the pattern.
